Unitec identifies a need with a customer, provides a web-based software demonstration and initial operational assessment, then prepares an assessment of the application along with a project proposal, then begins the process of translating the operational requirements of the business into software database structure, ticketing and reporting formats. Once that process is completed, we configure the software according to the customers needs, assemble the necessary hardware components for configuration and testing, then deliver the hardware and software system to the customer for installation, field testing, startup and training.
Automated Rail Loadout Installation
A good example of the value of an integrated system is with an automated rail loadout, where system integrates weights from rail scale, automatically identifies rail car, loads product into rail car with either rail scale or weigh hopper, develops complete manifest for train. So the components of the system would be core scale application (for rail scale and/or loadout), rail scale (equipment/installation/startup), loadout scale (either rail scale or weigh hopper), vehicle sensors, RFID readers/tags, integration of third party application to identify rail cars, integration of third party software for data transfer to accounting, cameras (fixed or IP), traffic lights, remote printers, network accessible reporting.
Coal-Fired Power Plant Installation
Our customer needs to weigh inbound coal from the mine, contracts with a trucking fleet to provide a steady stream of inbound coal. Additionally they need their scales to operate hands-free on a 24/7 basis. Unitec provided a 120' Low Profile Above Ground truck scale, and later supplied a portable base frame as customer realizes they may need to move the scale. We then supplied the scale management and control system to operate the scale, along with the RFID readers/tags, Unattended Scale kiosk with LCD display, keypad and printer, traffic lights and wheel sensors (to ensure truck is completely on the scale at time of transaction). Our skilled technicians configured, tested and installed the system to ensure the entire system operates as a unified system.
